Süleymaniye Mosque

Next we visit Süleymaniye Mosque, the largest mosque in Istanbul, and a masterpiece of Sinan, chief architect of the Ottoman Empire. This masterpiece was constructed during 16th-Century, in the name of “Süleyman The Magnificent”, the mosque dominates the 3rd hill of Istanbul, and is studded with domes, semi-domes, and elegant arches. You will also visit the lesser known Kuçuk Ayasofya Mosque, located between Cankurtaran and Kadirga neighborhoods in the Eminonu district. Also known as the Little Hagia Sophia, admire its carefully restored interior, complete with columns of verd antique and red Synnada marble.
